JAKARTA, Assertiveness government faced illegal foreign ships entering and stealing fish in Indonesian waters reap a variety of different reactions. For the Minister of Marine and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti and Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, assertiveness is Indonesian Government's efforts show that the sovereignty of this country can not be bought.
"Our problem now, as (state) can be bought. The desire of the current government's commitment to uphold law enforcement without being able to be bought is actually an initial starting point (that Indonesia) can be respected by other nations," said Retno.
"The issue of sovereignty is an issue that is not negotiable!" he added.
In the Indonesian Maritime Council meeting (Dekin) at the Mina Bahari I MMAF, Thursday (11/27/2014), Retno tell that some of today's preachers often questioned the government's policy regarding the act firmly to the illegal alien ship.
Responding to these questions, Retno said that the actual steps taken by his staff that is supposed to be done by the government.
"The point is that we are actually doing is something that is done all the countries of law enforcement. It's not just like that. These are things that have to do all of the state. The state will be respected if it could enforce the law," said Retno.
The same pattern also by the Minister of Marine and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti. In line with Retno, Susi also expressly states that it is only doing what should have been done so far.
"So, we just do what we have to do as a country. The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that sovereignty should not be purchased. I said, sovereignty was not worth anything, not for sale and can not be (purchased). If for sovereignty, anything Necessary to do to be done, it has to be done. Nothing else. So? " Susi said in the court of the CTF building.
Susi then complained that reporters asked him. According to Susi saving, should the question is how the need for Indonesian fishermen were arrested and his ship sunk in Malaysia and Australia.
"You have to say, oh no, now we rise up as a sovereign nation!" Susi said.
Then, on the potential conflict between the Indonesian and foreign countries as a result of the government's decision, Susi was not bothered. Again, he stressed that the country's sovereignty should not be abused by other countries.
"If because of sovereignty and we clashed with neighboring countries, so why not? Kan should not be harassed by the country's sovereignty," he said.
