Jakarta-MINE. Red plate energy company, PT Pertamina (Persero) reaffirmed its readiness to manage the working area of the Mahakam 100% after Total EP Indonesie contract expires on December 31, 2017.
The assertion that attitude as stated in the official letter Pertamina by Plt. Pertamina president director Muhamad Husen to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said about readiness Pertamina Managing Mahakam block today (27/11).
The letter is a reaffirmation of interest Pertamina to manage the Mahakam block that has been submitted to the Government since 2008. Husen said Pertamina has had both technical and financial capability to manage the Mahakam block.
Pertamina, he said, has been shown to have the capability of offshore operations with success significantly increase production in the block Offshore North West Java and West Madura Offshore (ONWJ-WMO) pascapengambilalihan by Pertamina.
We have sent a letter to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources. Essentially affirms that Pertamina has the ability to manage the Mahakam block 100%. We sincerely hope that the government can decide immediately determination Pertamina as the manager of the Mahakam block so that there is sufficient transition operation, he said in a press statement on Thursday (27/11).
Husen also revealed that the trend in today's world of national companies (National Oil Company) dominated the national oil and gas resources in the country, which aims to ensure national energy security. So far, the control of the national oil and gas resources by Pertamina is still relatively low compared to the NOC in other countries.
Therefore he considers that now is the right time to give a greater role to Pertamina as NOC Indonesia. "With the increase in portion control of oil and gas resources by Pertamina, it will give importance to Indonesia in safeguarding national energy security," he explained.
Currently, Pertamina is a data room Mahakam block to understand the technical and operational conditions of the working area. Pertamina will then submit proposals in a comprehensive management of the Mahakam block within 3 (three) months.
Pertamina also confirms the commitment to maintain the continuity of operations after the takeover of the Mahakam block, both in terms of operations as well as issues related to human resources.
As the experience of some other block takeover, workers who are mostly sons and daughters of Indonesia continued management of the block under the management of Pertamina.
To ensure smooth operation takeover once again we propose that the determination of Pertamina as the manager of the Mahakam block can be done, he said.
